Few of us can Resist the Magic of a Warm Fireside...

Yet, while a blazing hearth is attractive, a stove can be much more efficient at heating your home, providing a focal point as well as an excellent source of heat. Traditional stoves date back to the 18th century; an early version of the wood burner was designed by American statesman Benjamin Franklin and similar models became popular in the forested areas of Europe and North America. And now, stoves are enjoying a revival, thanks to environmental concerns and rising fuel costs. Most stoves have glazed doors to show the warm glow inside, some are double-sided to be placed in the centre of a room or between two rooms, others will heat water or radiators for your home, while the versatile range will also cook your meals.

The Woodburning Centre - Quality Stock, Quality Advice, Quality Installation

Important considerations when choosing a stove include heat output, installation costs and the position of the stove in your home – free-standing or set into a fireplace. Expert advice is essential, and that’s where we come in, to help you to make the right decisions for your home. After all, stove owners don’t see the seasonal fall in the outdoor temperature as a cause for depression. They can look forward to a season of warm moments indoors, both from heat and the cosy atmosphere.

Winter is coming, it doesn’t have to be cold.....

Here at the Woodburning Centre we can help you with stoves, fireplaces, surrounds, accessories and advice. Since 1996 we have been supplying and installing fireplaces and stoves throughout County Cork and Munster. We have continued to develop our showroom at The Old Mill, Drimoleague, which has allowed us to extend the range of products we can offer to our customers from the best of the leading manufacturers. We are proud of the stoves that we sell, and equally proud of the fact that there are some stoves we won't sell!

We are a West Cork family business with a strong tradition of customer care, advice and service. We will call to your home to provide you with a detailed survey and a free quotation for installing your stove.

The Woodburning Centre was officially Ireland's Top Dealer 2019

The Woodburning Centre was officially Ireland's Top Dealer 2019 & 2022 for Charnwood Stoves and we were given a Charnwood Labrador Trophy to prove it! We were also Ireland's Top Dealer 2021 for Charnwood and received another Labrador Trophy but this time with a golden tag to mark Charnwood's 50th Anniversary.

Fully Qualified and Experienced Staff

All of our stove installation staff are fully trained to current industry standards as recognised by Government in relation to biomass and solid fuel heating appliances, fuels and services, including the registration of competent installers and servicing businesses.

When we fit your stove you will receive a Certificate of Compliance and also a Carbon Monoxide Alarm as now required by the Irish Building Regulations. Some insurance companies are already asking for Compliance Certificates for stoves - be safe as well as warm and have your stove installed by The Woodburning Centre!

SIA Eco Design Ready

Ecodesign is a new European-wide programme to help lower emissions and improve air quality launching 1 January 2022 across the UK and Europe. All products manufactured after that date will have to comply to Ecodesign regulations. The regulations will cover a broad range of emissions including Particulate Matter (PM10 & PM2.5), CO2, NOx, OGC (Other gaseous carbon) and CO.

Stove manufacturers are already designing stoves that meet the Ecodesign criteria and here at The Woodburning Centre we are already able to offer stoves carrying the ‘Ecodesign Ready’ label to our customers.

Ask a Question

We are happy to answer your questions and never try to persuade customers into buying something that they don’t really want or that won’t meet their needs. Unlike some of the very big suppliers in this business, we aren’t simply interested in ‘selling you the box’ and leaving you to work out what to do on your own.
